Sunlight hits the snow, and glows.
Gets in my room through patched holes in the walls.
And we’re swimming through trash, but its only love.
This grey room feels all maroon.
And soon we’ll ditch the lead and fill the room with the colors of our heads.
Hues of Daisy or Big Red.
And that’s the way it goes
I could live without this but I won't
give me your love and I’ll show you growth,
my love has grown.
You tell yourself that it’s all in your head
but it’s everywhere,
and it’s everywhere I want it
so help yourself, there’s love left on your plate.
And soon we’ll do the dishes, dirty palms in clean kitchens but we know
that we’ll pass Daisy, and grow.

I’ve been thinking about picking up your parts lately
and reassembling you completely.
I’ve been missing your electric powered pulse
but I’m sick of always shocking myself.
You’re different it seems,
singing songs about when you were a machine.
You’re the one in my dreams
and in your dream I was your father’s guitar.
Playing notes that you loved
but wouldn’t sing before the crowd.
Now there’s a lull in the sound,
but it’s comforting to know what piece was missing.
And I’ll hang over this for now
mess around with the lesser parts,
but still hold your hand.
We had our differences
You had a switch for a heart,
a red blinking light for a mouth
that goes off once every hour
and I’m not alright with that loss?
You’re different it seems
singing songs about when you were a machine.
You’re the one in my dreams,
though in that dream you’re always walking away.
Do you remember the smell
of the factory that born you,
or all the other talking metal bots?
You had your differences, though you all had
A switch for a heart,
a red blinking light for a mouth
that goes off once every hour
and I’m not alright with that loss?
And we could try to talk
but sincere words weigh down your day
and there’s not all that much else worth saying
so we stop.

Goody Two Shoes

You dropped the ball, I threw it the other way.
I know my place, I know where I should stay.
Separated our ties accidentally,
these aren’t games I’m just trying to get passed this.
I could feel you growing in,
using my skin as the soil.
We planted our seeds out of season
and a tree can’t grow if the sun won’t see it.
You’ve got too many shoes for two feet,
where have you been that’s wearing you so down?
I took too quick to cut my ties
and now the loser is waiting next in line.
I’m leaving in the morning
ignoring a tangled line, try to look alive.

Spend too much time looking after a rat,
why don’t you care for something that could love you back?
Cue the lights, kill the mood.
You flow like a river; sticking to the easiest route.
But it’s not art when you shove it down someone’s throat.
I should have known you’d bail out to keep yourself afloat
and I wouldn’t last a minute with you alone.
Kill the lights, clear the room.
You flow like a river; sticking to the easiest route.
But you can’t be seriously considering this,
considering everything.
You went behind our backs while under our noses.
Do you feel good enough to sleep?
I wouldn’t last a minute with you alone.
Give your new friends diamonds, let your old friends down,
and still feel good enough to sleep.
I wouldn’t last a minute with you alone.
